Salesforce CPQ has some very powerful functionality not visible directly while configuring. Two of these are in the form of Twin Fields and Special Fields.
Certain pairs of CPQ objects pass custom field values from the first object to the second object when the second object is created. The values pass if the custom fields are editable, have matching field types, and have matching API names. These field pairs are known as “Twin Fields”.
Additionally, admins can manually create very specific predefined custom fields in Salesforce CPQ to make use of advanced features. These fields need to be created with a specific API Name and will unlock additional functionality or alter the behavior of certain features. Such fields are known as “Special Fields”.
In this video, we will go through the process of creating Twin Fields with an example and look at some Special Fields available as part of Salesforce CPQ.
