The management of integrations between systems is becoming increasingly more important as companies leverage more systems and users continue to demand access to everything from anywhere. Recent data tells us the overwhelming majority of line of business teams agree that employees need easy access to data in order to deliver projects faster, especially as new digital projects increase. While the need for connected data is high, more than one-third of business users point to integration as a top challenge to delivering new digital services.

And, Salesforce Administrators sit at the center of this movement.

With Salesforce’s declarative tools, you connect your systems and data with your users to help them be productive. With MuleSoft Composer, Salesforce is enabling you to take it one step further to break down existing data silos and connect more data.

What is Mulesoft Composer for Salesforce?

MuleSoft Anypoint Platform is a unified platform for APIs and integrations, enabling customers to unlock data across applications to deliver connected experiences. MuleSoft Composer for Salesforce, built on the foundation of Anypoint Platform, enables Salesforce Admins to break down data silos, connect apps and data to Salesforce, and automate integrations quickly and easily with clicks, not code. And you can do this all directly within Salesforce, where you already live. We introduced MuleSoft Composer last year — read more about how it works here.

What are connectors?

MuleSoft Composer’s secret sauce is the library of connectors to systems like Salesforce, Workday, and NetSuite. You can get started easily with prebuilt connectors and templates that enable you to build integrations and create a single view of your customer faster.

We are releasing new connectors regularly as we speak. So you can connect the applications you need to streamline sales operations, foster team collaboration across distributed teams, and enhance the employee experience with automation.

Available as of March 2021:

NetSuite
The NetSuite Connector synchronizes data and automates business processes between NetSuite and Salesforce. NetSuite provides cloud-based business management software that helps companies manage core business processes, ERP financials, CRM, ecommerce, inventory, and more.

Slack
The Slack Connector gives you access to the Slack platform. This connector exposes three actions provided by the Slack API: look up user info by email, send a direct message, and post a message in a channel. See Slack’s official site to learn more.

Workday
The Workday Connector provides access to standard Workday operations. Workday is a Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) solution that provides a set of software apps for human capital management, such as human resources, staffing, recruiting, and performance.

Tableau
The Tableau Connector enables you to see all of your connected business data in one place, in real time. Tableau is an analytics and business intelligence (BI) platform that makes databases and spreadsheets understandable to ordinary people.

Google Sheets
The Google Spreadsheets Connector provides instant connectivity to the Google Spreadsheets API, allowing you to access, create, and modify Google Sheets.

Common use cases for Mulesoft Composer

Streamline sales operations
Synchronize data and automate quote-to-cash processes using connectors for CRM, ERP, and more. For example, connect Google Sheets to Salesforce to import data and reduce manual data entry errors. Or automate inventory management, general ledge management, and order-to-cash processes with a NetSuite <> Salesforce connection.

Foster team collaboration
Automate updates and team notifications to jump-start downstream activities using Slack Connector. Bring your marketing, sales, finance, and service teams together when you connect Slack, Gmail, and Tableau with Salesforce. For example, share Salesforce reporting data directly in Slack or visualize it in Tableau so teams can collaborate and act on it in real time.

Enhance employee experience
Automate employee onboarding and development tasks with Workday Connector and more. For example, you can automate resource provisioning, streamline new hire orientation, and increase employee development when you connect Workday, Gmail, and Slack.

What should Admins do next?

With the launch of MuleSoft Composer, there has never been a better time to evaluate where you can leverage MuleSoft at your company. Review your existing integrations and automations. If you have legacy code that needs updating, this might be a great opportunity to replace that code with a fully declarative tool. Review the systems your company uses. Are there areas where you could compose a connection between systems that might help add efficiency and data quality to your company? MuleSoft Composer presents an opportunity for Salesforce Admins to be leaders in integration and build an immersive experience for end users.
