In today’s data-driven world, businesses rely on timely and actionable insights to make informed decisions. Salesforce has been instrumental in helping organizations manage their customer data. Salesforce Reports & Dashboards is one of the most heavily used features in the platform and is a powerful way to visualize and analyze your data. Now, this same easy-to-use and familiar reporting experience can connect to and analyze your data from Data Cloud. Let’s see how.
You can simply go to the Reports tab and click on New Report. You will now see a new category “Data Cloud”, using which you can search for Data Cloud Report Types. Once a report type is selected, you will see the list of objects and fields used in that report type, the joins, and any reports created by you or by others based on that report type.
You can report on DMOs and also join DMOs to create new report types. The Custom Report Types UI won’t be GA in Winter ’24 but in the subsequent release. As of now, your admin can use the API to create new report types if they don’t already exist. In the future, you will be able to report on Calculated Insights.
Click on Start Report to start building a new report. You will be taken to the familiar reporting interface. Drag and drop fields, sort them in the right order, and filter them. You can also summarize any numeric fields, add both row and summary-level formulas. You can apply conditional formatting and add charts for easy visualization and also turn the toggles for detail rows, totals, and subtotals on and off.
Finally, make business decisions faster by visualizing KPIs and trends from Data Cloud reports in your dashboards. Now you can create dashboard components on a Data Cloud source report. Refine the results with filters that apply to just the Data Cloud components. And gather insights from CRM and Data Cloud simultaneously by including both data sources in the same dashboard.
