Salesforce will be revealing a new Flow feature by Dreamforce, Salesforce Ben can reveal.
Product Manager at Salesforce, Adam White, told us about Action Hub – a new capability which lets users better manage all actions within their org, helping track where actions are used and their success/failure rates.
It will be a tab within the existing automation app, moving features away from the setup menu.
Action Hub for Flow: What You Need to Know
Adam suggested that Action Hub is currently in development with a goal for an initial beta release by Dreamforce, which takes place between October 14 and 16 in San Francisco, California.
When asked about observability features within Action Hub, specifically regarding action failures and successes, Adam said that there would be a focus on enhanced logging across Flow due to Data Cloud unlocking opportunities for storing more metrics on Flow executions.
Adam told Salesforce Ben: “Action Hub is a really cool thing that we are working on that enables people to better manage all of their actions within their org. For example, you have a call out somewhere in your flow that’s used by a flow. Where is that being used? How many times is it being used?
“Actions are a fundamental, important thing that Flow has been really taking forward, especially with Agentforce. Flows and invocable actions powered by Flow are powering Agentforce, so it’s more important than ever to figure out where those actions are being used, how they’re being used, [whether they] are failing or succeeding. So Action Hub is this central place where you’ll be able to manage all of your actions in one place.”
When we spoke to Adam, on August 18, he said Salesforce was “currently working on it as we speak”.
He added: “We’re currently targeting a later beta, so you won’t really be able to see it in its full glory yet in preview orgs. It’ll be coming a little bit later in the preview cycle. Things can change, but our goal is to have an initial beta available soon.”
When asked whether it would be ready by Dreamforce, Adam said: “Yeah, I think that’s the goal. If we need to retract that or adjust it afterward, we can do that… certainly by Dreamforce, you’ll be able to see it in action.”
We asked Adam whether the Action Hub would be a separate app, like the Automation app, or whether it would be part of the Automation app.
He said: “You’ll see it in the Automation app as a little tab that appears up the top… you’ll see it alongside all the other subtabs within the automation home.”
We followed up, commenting that it seems Salesforce is moving most of the features away from setup now, and Adam replied: “Yeah, you’ll see a lot more features built for the automation home in general.”
He added that another feature they are working on will allow you to see how flows are using a certain action, which flows are being referenced, and where a subflow is being used.
Adam said: “We’re also working on features to better enable Flow management. Pretty soon, we’ll be updating the automation home app to be able to see where flows are being used, too. So the more things we add to the automation home, the more people will gravitate towards it. That’s the hope.”
Final Thoughts
Details remain scant at the moment, but Salesforce appears to be planning several big revelations for Dreamforce 2025 – including this one regarding Flow.
