I was working as a Salesforce admin, and a Salesforce user forgot their login password and could not access their account. I received a request to reset the password.

I need to find the user’s record and click “Reset Password“. The user then gets an email with a link to set a new password and can log in again.

In this article, we will learn about how to reset a user’s password in Salesforce. Additionally, we will learn the steps for resetting a user’s own password in Salesforce.

Reset a User Password in Salesforce

When we reset a user’s password in Salesforce, it means the Admin sends a new password link to the user when they are unable to log in. The user gets an email to set a new password and regain access.

To navigate the user record in Salesforce, go to the Home Page. -> In the Quick Find Box, Search for Users. -> Click on it.

As you click on “Users,” you will see a list of users in our Salesforce org. To reset the user password, we need to open the user record page for that user and click on the user for whom you want to reset the password.

As you open the user record page, you will see the Reset Password button. Click on it.

Then, you will see the Change Password screen, which displays the user’s details and a message stating that the new password for the specified user has been set via email.
